Lamu is an island on the coast of Kenya where time seems to move differently.
For a long time, donkeys were donkeys were the main form of transportation, and even today Lamu feels like one of those rare places that protects its rhythm, traditions and architecture from changing too fast.
I arrived in Lamu after someone recommended it to me during my trip to Kenya, and there was something almost magical in the atmosphere of that journey — in the encounters, the streets, the silence, and the way the island seemed to reveal itself slowly.
